Frequently Asked Questions
Polyester yarn is a synthetic fiber produced from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a derivative of petroleum. It is manufactured in various types, including POY, FDY, DTY, and ATY, each with distinct physical, visual, and chemical properties, making them suitable for different textile applications.
In some cases, polyester yarn can be used as a substitute for natural fibers in textile products. Its key features include:
- Soft, warm, and lightweight
- Durable
- Hygienic and hypoallergenic
- Washable by hand and machine
- Moisture-resistant and odor-free
Polyester yarn has the highest production and consumption in the industry.
Since the best yarn is determined by customer needs and specific requirements, no single yarn can be considered the best in all applications. For each application, a different yarn type may be the optimal choice.
Among the various types of yarns used in fashion and apparel, polyester yarn has the greatest durability and longest lifespan in clothing.
Nafis Nakh’s DTY yarns are produced with four main types of mingle, each suited for different applications:
Weak and Very Weak Mingle (LL & LLLL)
Used in weft yarns for woven fabrics or knitted fabrics where maximum yarn coverage in the fabric is required.
Produced according to customer specifications.
Medium Mingle (L)
Used in weft yarns for woven fabrics and applications where minimum stress is applied to the yarn.
Produced based on customer requirements.
Strong Mingle (H)
Typically used in fabrics exposed to high tension.
In certain fabrics, if there are no weaving issues, the mingle strength can be set to H upon customer request to reduce the visibility of mingle points in the fabric.
Very Strong Mingle (HH)
Mainly used in the warp of high-density woven fabrics, where the warp yarns experience significant tension.
Yarn shrinkage refers to the reduction in length that occurs after heat treatment.
Heat can be applied using two methods:
- Hot air
- Boiling water
Each method produces different shrinkage results. Therefore, when specifying requirements, customers must indicate which method should be used for measurement.
Shrinkage is calculated using the following formula:
SH% =[(L1-L2)/L1]*100
Yes. Nafis Nakh can adjust the yarn package diameter or weight based on the customer’s application and needs. Any specific modifications or requirements are agreed upon at the time of order placement.
No. In self-colored yarns, changing the polymer type from semi-dull to bright or vice versa will result in a significant shade difference. Typically, adjusting the color percentage alone cannot replicate the previous shade, and the company must re-match the shade to meet the customer’s requested color.
No. When converting between different types of self-colored polyester yarns such as POY, FDY, DTY, and ATY, the yarn shade changes due to alterations in its physical structure. Therefore, the shade must be color-matched by the company to meet the customer’s requested color.
Additionally, if the cross-sectional shape of the filaments in the self-colored yarn changes, the yarn shade will also be affected.
This difference occurs in yarns with non-circular cross-sections (e.g., triangular shapes). Due to this variation, careful consideration must be given to the required shade and customer approval before finalizing the order.
Yes. Nafis Nakh guarantees that the dye absorption percentage of all white yarns produced from the same lot remains consistent.
Customers interested in ordering colored yarn can request a color swatch by contacting the sales or marketing departments by phone or by submitting a request through the company website.
Yes, the type of packaging and the materials used can be modified according to the customer’s needs and order specifications. These details are agreed upon at the time of order placement.
After receiving the order and customer requirements, the sales department reviews the details and finalizes payment terms with the customer. Once agreed upon, the order is scheduled for production based on the company's available capacity, and the timeline is communicated to the customer.
If the requested yarn is a new product that the customer has not previously used or if it is a colored yarn with a new shade, a sample of the yarn or the requested shade is first produced and sent for customer approval. Once approved, the standard production and delivery process follows.
Since the color, abrasion, and wash fastness of Nafis Nakh’s colored yarns are adjusted based on their intended use and application, it is essential to specify the end-use when placing an order. This ensures that the appropriate product is manufactured and delivered to the customer.
You can reach the technical and consulting department through the factory contact numbers listed on the Nafis Nakh website.
The warranty period for premium-grade products is six months. However, products purchased with a non-compliant grade are not covered by warranty. Additionally, for yarns requiring high shrinkage, the warranty period is two months.
